Ottelia alismoides
Ottelia alismoides
General information: The Ottelia cultured at Aquagreen was collected from the Howard River. It grows very large in the aquarium and is best used as a feature plant.
Cultivation notes: Ottelia does well under strong light and harder water with a rich substrate. It is an annual and grows from seed each year. CO2 fertilisation and pH control make growing this plant in the aquarium less difficult.
Distribution: Tropical Asia through New Guinea to NT and Qld. In NT it is found in Howard River, Reynolds River, Mainoru River and Roper River.
Selling details: Sold as individual plants washed free of substrate.
